Why Our New Website Is So Important

We have just launched an all-new website designed to greatly enhance our online customer experience. A significant amount of research has been done to understand how people prefer to find information, what kinds of navigation techniques they prefer, and what is most effective in stimulating site interaction. We were fortunate to work with a web development company that understands user-centered design and that making a website look fantastic is nice, but making sure it serves the customer’s needs is the most important objective.

When you think about it, a huge part of our economy is driven by what people find, buy and do on websites. That’s certainly true for us, which is why developing a new website is a major strategy undertaking, not simply a design project. Our old site, for example, was information rich but in need of a better organized navigation.

The new Craters & Freighters website has dramatically streamlined the Request A Quote feature, provides photo examples of our specialty crating solutions, and helps different types of customers quickly find the services specific to their needs. The specialties and services required by someone shipping high-value antiques is different from those required by a company shipping an entire data center. Our new site quickly gets every customer to the information they need.

We have also incorporated videos on the site, and easy-to-find information about all of our services and specialties. We’re eager to hear your feedback on our new site.  And I would like to congratulate our web development partner, Fusionbox, for their dedicated work in making our new website and the 67 location sites across our franchise network the best possible experience for all of our customers.
